Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) and Satakunta Educational Federation (Sataedu) will present their education expertise at Dubai World Expo on October 20th 2020 until April 10th 2021. Education providers from Satakunta will introduce themselves in Finland Pavilion under the name EducationFinland alongside with 12 other education providers and companies from the field.
According to the principal of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences CEO Jari Multisilta, we are exporting educational expertise together from Satakunta by participating in Dubai World Expo. The goal is to get more degree students from abroad to Satakunta. One of the key goals in SAMK’s strategy is to support development by increasing the number of international experts.
– Together with Sataedu we can offer different education paths from vocational education to higher education degrees. I believe that a high-quality education system, a safe society and clean environment attract people to study and work in Finland and Satakunta, Multisilta says.
According to the Director of the Educational Federation Matti Isokallio, Sataedu and SAMK have a strong and widespread collaboration in international affairs. Education export is one part of this collaboration. The chance to join Dubai World Expo came at a suitable time.
– We at Sataedu already have experience in education export to China, so it is natural that we are searching for new markets. Elderly care expertise is our strength, so it is logical that we want to export this expertise abroad, Isokallio says.
Over 190 countries have signed up for the Dubai World Expo. The goal of the event is to reach around 25 million visitors, of which 70% comes from outside the United Arab Emirates. Finland’s main theme at the Expo is Sharing Future Happiness. The Pavilion Building’s theme focuses on circular economy, durability and innovations.
